Service is an act of devotion to God and essential for growth. It is a path to God as important as prayer.


Jesus modeled for us a life of Love and Service. Through the act of volunteering and serving in our church community, we have an opportunity to identify, develop, and express our spiritual gifts. When one gives from his/her gifts, it creates more joy, is easier, and benefits others. When we serve, we practice spiritual principles in a safe, empowering environment and then go out into our world to be “Love in Action.”

There are many opportunities to serve or volunteer at Seattle Unity Church. When possible we work in teams so we get to know one another while we put into practice the spiritual principles we are learning on Sunday or in classes. Every effort is made to match a person’s gifts and personal passion and life situation with the team and task that needs to be done.

Bookstore & Library – support these activities by shelving, cataloging, and retails assistance
Business & Administration – office, finance, special projects, data entry, phone calls
Chaplaincy & Prayer Team – pray with (Chaplaincy) /for (Prayer Team) those in our congregation & our prayer box requests, Prayer Shawl Ministry
Community Outreach – Feed the Kids cooking, Christmas Giving Tree, neighborhood development
Creative Arts Ministry – music (SUJAM &/or DIOS), tapestries, altars, prayer shawls
Gardening & Church Maintenance – clean, shine, fix indoors; weed, clip, plant outdoors
Hospitality & Events – sell tickets, assist staff with hosting events & classes
Love In Action & Adult Education – support event & class logistics with planning or staffing
Marketing & Communications – newsletters, press releases, website maintenance
Welcoming Ambassador Program – meet greet & answer visitors questions
Sunday Ushers & Greeters – greet, seat, and collect Sunday offerings; one service, monthly.
Technical Support for Programs and Events – audio visual & sound system team
Youth & Family Ministry – childcare for programs & youth education support
